Richie testing water Your drinking water consistently meets or exceeds all water quality standards relating to public health and aesthetics, like taste, odor and color, set by the State Water Resources Control Board - Division of Drinking Water and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The water has received over 200 types of tests, been filtered and disinfected before entering Vallecitos Water District's water distribution system. The water is further sampled and tested by Vallecitos specialists at the reservoirs and many checkpoints throughout the District.

The annual Water Quality Reports below offer more detailed information about the quality of your drinking water. If you would like the hard copy of the most recent report mailed to you or an electronic copy of an older report, please send us an email.

The Claude "Bud" Lewis Desalination Plant in Carlsbad supplies desalinated seawater to the Vallecitos Water District. The desalinated water is generated and sold to the San Diego County Water Authority which distributes it to the Vallecitos Water District, they are the best resource for desalinated water quality information.
