Besides collaborating with other similar organizations responsible for providing water from the same sources to people in and outside of the state, wholesalers after securing an adequate supply must import water 444 miles through the California Aqueduct and 222 miles through the Colorado River Aqueduct. The water is stored, treated, and protected through this journey.

Also on this journey even before reaching Vallecitos, the water is pumped over mountains, through tunnels, beneath valleys and deserts, to meet the demands of millions of people residing in Southern California. During its journey the water maintains its superior quality, passing and exceeding all governmental regulations, as evidenced in Vallecitos’ annual Water Quality Reports.
