Jim Pennock was first elected to the Vallecitos Water District board in 2020. A resident of San Marcos since 1995, Pennock’s involvement in the community includes having served on The Budget Review Committee, Student and Neighbor Relations Commission, Planning Commission – He also has coached youth sports in San Marcos (Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball) for the last 25 years. Jim enjoys serving in his church community and volunteers for many interfaith programs. Mr. Pennock currently works in the Insurance industry – he has owned his own insurance agency for the last 25 years.

Mr. Pennock earned a BS degree in International Business from United States International University, after attending Brigham Young University for 2 years. Jim is also fluent in Spanish, having served with a church mission in Paraguay for 2 years. He resides in San Marcos with his wife Deanna of 32 years. They are the parents of 5 children and grandparents to 3 grandchildren.
